Chairman’s Message

Mrs. Florence “Flo” Darby

Attorney-at-Law Chairman, Ardenne Alumni Foundation

Welcome to the Ardenne Alumni Foundation, a community united by a shared love for our beloved school and an unwavering commitment to securing its future.

It is always inspiring to reflect on what we have accomplished together. As alumni, volunteers, and friends of Ardenne, scattered across Jamaica and around the globe; in Florida, Atlanta, New York, Toronto and beyond, we have demonstrated time and again the extraordinary power of giving back. From the solarization of our school and Industrial Arts building, to scholarships that have transformed the lives of deserving students, to the exciting progress toward our flagship project, the Ardenne Alumni Wellness Centre, every contribution has made a real and lasting difference.

The Wellness Centre represents our most ambitious undertaking yet, a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance the well-being of our students and teachers for generations to come. We are well on our way, with construction projected to be completed in early 2027, and we are deeply grateful to every donor, chapter, and well-wisher who has made this vision possible. We still have a lot of ground to cover, and so we warmly invite you to continue with us or if you not yet done so, join us on this journey.

Equally close to our hearts is a cause that is simple in its premise but profound in its impact – ensuring that no child at Ardenne goes hungry. Our Lunch Programme is rooted in the belief that a hungry child cannot learn, and that every Ardennite deserves to come to school and focus fully on reaching their potential. As we look ahead to the new school year beginning in September 2026, we will be making a concerted push to fully activate this programme and extend its reach to every student in need. We invite all alumni, chapters, and well-wishers to get involved, whether by donating funds or sponsoring a specific child. No contribution is too small, and every dollar goes directly toward nourishing a future.

Beyond the Wellness Centre and the Lunch Programme, we remain steadfast in our commitment to academic excellence, providing scholarships and bursaries to deserving students, supporting the professional development of our teachers, and strengthening the school’s facilities and curriculum offerings. These efforts are only possible because of the generosity and dedication of our alumni family.

As we journey toward Ardenne’s 100th anniversary, let us press forward with joyful determination, remembering the faith and perseverance of our founders, Reverend George and Nellie Olson, who overcame every obstacle to build a school that has transformed thousands of lives. Their legacy is our inspiration.

To every alumnus who has given of their time, talent, and resources, thank you! And to those who are yet to join our efforts, we say: there has never been a better time. Together, we can achieve even greater milestones and ensure that those who come behind us will find us faithful.

Deo Duce Quaere Optima — With God as Guide, Seek the Best.
