Ardenne Scholarship
Student Support – Scholarships and Bursaries
The Ardenne Alumni Foundation believes that financial circumstances should never stand between a deserving student and an excellent education. Through its administrative support role, the Foundation facilitates the disbursement of scholarships and bursaries funded by generous alumni, chapters, and friends of Ardenne ensuring that financial assistance reaches the students who need it most. Each award reflects the enduring commitment of those who came before to invest in those who come after.
Ardenne Alumni Association Atlanta Chapter — Scholarship and Bursary Programme
The Atlanta Chapter of the Ardenne Alumni Association demonstrates its deep commitment to the next generation of Ardennites through two distinct awards:
The AAAAC Scholarship Fund provides full financial support to students from Grades 8 through 11, covering the remainder of their high school journey at Ardenne.
The AAAAC Horace Sinclair Bursary Scholarship Fund provides partial financial assistance each year to students at various stages of their Ardenne journey, broadening the reach of the chapter’s support across the student body.

The Errol Beecher Scholarship
The Errol Beecher Scholarship was established by Mr. Errol Beecher, a former Mathematics teacher at Ardenne High School who served the institution until the late 1990. In establishing this scholarship, Mr. Beecher chose to give back in the most meaningful way possible, by ensuring that a student who might otherwise be unable to afford a quality education is given a genuine opportunity to thrive at Ardenne.
The scholarship provides full financial aid to one student entering Grade 7, with support continuing throughout their high school journey, provided they continue to meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated financial hardship within the family
- Maintenance of the academic promotional standards set by Ardenne High School
- A school attendance rate of at least 95% (waivers may be considered in cases of serious illness)
- Active participation in extracurricular activities
- Full compliance with the school’s code of conduct
- Parental engagement, including attendance at all scheduled parent-school conferences and meetings
This scholarship is currently closed to new applicants.
The Florence Burnside Bursary
Mrs. Florence Burnside is a proud past student of Ardenne High School who established this bursary out of a heartfelt desire to give back to the institution that shaped her, and to ensure that another young woman has the opportunity to benefit from the same quality of education she received.
The Florence Burnside Bursary supports a female student at any grade level at Ardenne who is in need of financial assistance to continue her studies. Preference is given to students in foster care or similar living situations. While academic potential is a consideration, the bursary recognises that a student not currently excelling academically is not thereby disqualified. Resilience, character, and circumstance matter here as much as grades.
This bursary is currently closed to new applicants.
The Noel Dexter Bursary
Announced by the Ardenne Alumni Association (Jamaica) in 2023, the Noel Dexter Bursary honours the memory of one of the most beloved and transformative figures in Ardenne’s history – the late Mr. Noel George Dexter, OD, composer, pianist, and choirmaster extraordinaire.
Mr. Dexter joined the staff of Ardenne High School in 1960, teaching Geography, Economics, and ultimately Music over a remarkable 17-year tenure. Under his inspired leadership, Ardenne’s choir earned numerous gold medals and awards of excellence at the National Festival of the Arts, elevating the school to the pinnacle of Jamaica’s performing arts scene. He left Ardenne in 1977, but remained connected to the school and the students he taught.
In the academic year 2023/2024, the bursary was awarded to two students of the performing arts. The Foundation hopes to continue honouring Mr. Dexter’s legacy through this award in future years, subject to the availability of funding.
For further information on this bursary, please contact the Ardenne Alumni Association (Jamaica).
Establish a Scholarship or Bursary — Leave a Legacy That Lasts
The scholarships and bursaries on this page exist because individuals chose to act, to take the resources they have built over a lifetime and invest them in the future of a young Ardennite who needed a hand. Each award bears the name of its founder, ensuring that their generosity is remembered and celebrated for as long as Ardenne stands.
If you would like to establish a scholarship or bursary in your name, in honour of a loved one, or on behalf of your chapter or organisation, the Ardenne Alumni Foundation would be honoured to partner with you. We handle all administrative support, including recipient selection in accordance with your criteria, disbursement of funds, and ongoing stewardship of your award.
There is no more lasting tribute to your love for Ardenne than knowing that, year after year, a student walks through those gates because of you.
